Luton Council Withdraws from its Integrated Care System Objecting to Lack of Influence
Luton Council - which had been a partner in the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System (ICS) has pulled out, according to Health Service Journal, claiming that the ICS disempowered local decisions. Nottingham City Council also suspended its direct ICS involvement in November 2018. In Berkshire West, neither the South Central Ambulance Trust nor local authorities are partners in the Integrated Care System at present.

NHS Long Term Plan
NHS England has published its long term plan which covers the next ten years. Five of these years were covered by the recent funding settlement, giving an average uplift of 3.4% per year. The plan is 136 pages long, but you can read a 2 page summary here. The King's Fund has published a useful longer summary and comment on the plan here. The NHS long term plan relies on a workforce plan and plans for training and for public health, which are not yet available.
Childhood Trauma and Later Mental Health - Film and Discussion - 5.30pm 9th Jan 2019
The film "Resilience" will be shown at St John's School, Orts Road, Reading at 17.30pm on 9th January 2019. It deals with the findings of research on the effects of childhood trauma on later mental health and how communities that have recognised this have improved child and adolescent mental health.
